Midland sent a tech to do the yearly inspection of my furnace. They had recently installed a new one so it was running fine. I always find Midland reliable, honest, and fair. Esteban was a really good tech today. Personable and knowledgeable. Efficient too. And thorough.

My AC stopped working on Wednesday afternoon, they had a guy out here next day, and it was fixed by Thursday afternoon. Great work, and the technician, Josh, was one of the friendliest and most informative people I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Price was cheaper than expected, too! Definitely going to be calling on these guys for any future issues, and will highly recommend them to anyone else in the area.

We used Midland and had a great experience with John, the HVAC Technician they sent out. Dispatch was very communicative and worked to fit our scheduling needs. The technician was on time and took extra effort to talk me through his diagnostic process and what could be done during the 30 minute session, and what next steps could look like. Overall very professional and worth the money!

Didn't do the right diagnosis, it didn't get the gas to HVAC, Took the old Gas valve, and damage it.. end up request me to pay the new gas valve over $1000. the customer services not friendly. Not recommend

A young technician with great courtesy and manner worked on our central outdoor air conditioning unit for the house during the heat wave, he was patient to explain the problem after some diagnosis, and finished his job for a replacement of some parts outside and double checking everything inside, fairly thorough. Would defuse it again if anything happened. The charge was 300+ dollars, but I guess any of those maintenance work wouldn’t be cheap with other shops either, so we’re quite satisfied with it. At least they didn’t do sweet talking to sell you on replacing the whole unit etc, you know? Lewis

Josh did a great and very thorough job with our HVAC tuneup and service call today. He answered all our questions and although we didn’t ultimately find the cause of the exhaust smell, I feel much better about running our AC and knowing that it got some TLC today. We will use you again!

They arrived early and their pricing was fair. They were able to repair both our furnace and ac in the last year. We will be returning customers!

I don’t post ratings but with the summer heat, I want others to avoid my experience. As a company, Midland heating and cooling is awesome, came out within 24 hours of me calling, Karen was great with explaining things and answering my questions however their up charge on parts is why I give my rating. She diagnosed the issue instantly, the capacitor needed to be replaced. She told me the price which seemed high but my house was 88 degrees so I said fine, replace it because I wanted to make sure that was the only issue. I knew it was up charged vs me buying one myself but when I later looked up the price I was pretty ticked off, the exact capacitor cost $10… but the $90 trip fee turned into $369. That was an expensive lesson. (But I’m happy it’s fixed).

Called Midland recently for an A/C repair and would definitely recommend. Tech was a cool guy and was very professional. Would not hesitate to call back if something goes wrong in the future.

Kyle was very pleasant to work with despite my numerous questions about warranty and installation issues. He was patient and professional. Karen was the technician who came out and she was also excellent. Professional, explained things well, and made me feel included in decision making.

Great checkup

Do not buy the Maintenance and Service Plan. They scammed me out of $240. When I cancelled the plan on the anniversay date like I was supposed to, (I had to because I have leukemia and can't have strangers in the house), they charged me for another year anyway, and won't refund the money. Unbelievable that any business would be that shady and dishonest.

They stand behind their work. Midland followed up free of charge on a prior repair when there was an issue.

They didn't hook up my air conditioner when they put in my furnace, not a shop I would recommend to anyone. Not very professional either.

Update… The summer after the installation there was an issue with the system not cooling properly. After numerous visits, midland says the issue is lack of air flow so they charged me $1,500 to add returns even though the old a/c unit worked properly with the original duct work. I was very hesitant to pay for something that should have been accounted for at install if it was required for the system to function properly. Midland assured me they were confident this would be the solution so I agreed and was charged $1,500 in addition to the initial cost of the system. This did not fix the problem. The system has failed to properly cool the house since it was installed. Midland no longer returns my calls or responds to my emails. I was even willing to pay midland to replace the unit but they would not respond. Needless to say I was forced to replace the a/c unit using a different company. I deeply regret using midland and would not recommend this company. My furnace went out in my out of state rental property. I knew i likely needed a new system so I called 5 different companies on a Saturday afternoon and got nowhere. To my surprise Todd (the owner) with Midland heating promptly answered the phone and said he could be to the house within 24 hrs. He ended up going within a couple hours of our phone call which was awesome. Gave me a very reasonable price on installing a new furnace and ac and had the job completed on Monday. Amazing service! Great prices! I highly recommended.

Todd and his team were wonderful. We had a complex job, looking for duel fuel system incorporating an air source heat pump with a gas furnace. Few companies had any idea what were were talking about. Midland not only knew, but helped us source the best fit for our needs. They were patient, helping answer our questions, and helped ensure the final setup was done right.

Todd and his team were prompt, helpful, and completed a professional installation of our new furnace and ac unit. Dan, the install manager, made sure that initial recommendations upon quote would be most effective for our home. Lonnie and the install team took special care in hooking up an existing minisplit we had as well. Overall, my experience with Midland was great and I would definitely recommend them to others.

Midland is the best! So reliable and friendly. Todd showed up 30 minutes after I called him and the team was ready to fix the problem the next morning. I cannot say enough good things about this company! We had them install a mini split AC last summer and the experience was equally as good! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Would not recommend. Your main points are it’s a simple business. You're looking for a local company, not a home warranty or center point warranty company that takes weeks or month to respond to A/C out during heat wave. You want employers who treat their employees well. Not this place, good luck finding anyone who has been at midland 5 years and is not corrupt. Terrible 2019 summer heat wave: Midland wanted $1600 for about three fifty in parts. thats $3.50 in parts. i offered them half that an they declined. they even had a trainee with them an thats how the train their staff to do business, to threaten that if customer didnt pay that day they wouldn't be able to return for weeks.. welp i got a 2nd opinion an turns out midland diagnostic would not have solve the issue with my air conditioner. They missed obvious points of failure with one being visible refrigerant leak in coils. 2nd simple measurements would have pointed to that issue.

We needed some boiler repair done last winter, found Midland and they worked out well. Signed up for the service contract to cover the bolier and A/C for a year. This spring, they came out and checked the A/C as promised. While the technician was here, I asked for a quote on some boiler work. He took some pictures, gave me a rough quote and said he would follow-up with the details. A few weeks go by and I never hear from them. I call the office and Kyle, the office manager, says he saw the pictures and would I like a quote? Well, yes, Kyle, that was the idea. We make an appointment for 2 weeks away at 1030 with Dan. The morning of the appointment, I am waiting around the house until 1100.....no one shows up. I call the office and ........Dan answers. He says he changed the appointment by email ( which he sent to the wrong person). And while he never got a response from that email, he was content to assume they appointment had been changed. He would be happy to schedule another time for a quote for next week. Not later today, not tomorrow but next week. No effort at all to make this happen. No apology for wasting my time. No further work from me.

I had my AC quit this past week due to a refrigerant leak. It was a very easy to spot leak on the outside of the compressor unit. The technician from Midland who came out to "fix" the unit looked it over with his cellphone flashlight (without even taking off the rear panel covers), checked the refrigerant level and claimed he couldn't identify the origin of the leak that was blatant and on the outside of the unit no less. He did not even attempt to pressurize the line and use any kind of leak detecting fluid or dig into the unit to reinforce his claim. What he did do was claim that I needed service valves installed, and possibly a new compress because the leak might have gotten oil into places it shouldn't be. He claimed for the "might work" fix, it would cost $1750 roughly and for the guaranteed fix (aka new unit) about $3000. Me, having a fair amount of common sense I knew this was absurd and that he was doing nothing but upselling a very simple fix hoping I was ignorant enough to bite. Needless to say I sent him away and waited for an HVAC technician, that came highly recommended, to come look it over 4 days later. That technician immediately identified the leak and then leak tested the system to be sure. Within a hour and a half he had, brazed in a new piece of copper, went through the full process to refill the refrigerant, and checked everything over to then turn on the system. It has been working beautifully since. This was all accomplished for an extremely fair price far far under the lowest price "fix" the Midland Heating & Cooling "technician" (more like salesman) estimated. It would be nice to get a refund for the $90 "service call" charge. What Midland did do right was a very fast response time and an on time appointment. TL;DR - Midland Heating & Cooling "technician" (salesperson) lied about what was required to fix my system after not even attempting to actually diagnose the problem. Thank God for common sense.

I had an excellent experience with Todd Shuman & his crew - all of them professional, responsive, punctual, and friendly. Love my new mini-split so far! Highly recommend based on my experience.

I highly recommend Midland. They were very prompt in repairing our water heater. Their tech was polite, kept us appraised of the work, and cleaned up the project area, apologizing because the concrete floor was slightly wet. (Having drained the water heater I expected it to be wetter!) Also, unlike the other heating and cooling companies we have dealt with in the Twin Cities, he did not spend a good share of his time here trying to sell us upgrades or replacements we didn't need or weren't interested in.

Quick honest response

Fresh water supply valve was left off. I turned it back on and the check valve was leaking bad at it's connection. Tech knew this never told me about it. The pressure relief valve he replaced started leaking two days later. I was promised a call by a new tech within two days. Nothing. It is very hard to find ethical competant technicians. Beware

I know great customer service, having been a crew member at Trader Joe's for 11 1/2 years, so I can say without reservation that Midland Heating & Cooling has great customer service. Since 2016, each member of the Midland team with whom I've had contact is friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and dependable. My house has a high tech, high efficiency, Slant Fin gas boiler that demands from each part and from every service absolute precision. Midland techs keep at it until they get it right. In addition to accolades, critical feedback is a responsibility of being a good customer, so I offer this: Midland will benefit from a tighter focus on constant incremental improvements in returning voice messages sooner and leaving jobs cleaner. Perfection is only an aspiration, and so if possible I'd give Midland a 4 1/2 star rating.

Charges are way too high, and techs are not very knowledgeable. I called them and had them come out a couple of times to check on my furnace to only keep getting a different answer of “maybe it could be this or that.” And to be charged a ridiculously high price when they would “recommended” that this part and that part should be replaced. At the end after paying over a grand to them, they still couldn’t fix the issue with my furnace. I really felt ripped off and I would not recommend this place to anyone. Super disappointed at the services they provided. I’m not sure how they getting a five star rating.

The perfect company for any HVAC needs. Dan, the owner, was extremely helpful when diagnosing what was going wrong. I had both my furnace and a/c go out and two people came in and fixed in it a day. It was a long day, but everything is running smoothly and better than before. Shoutout to Mitch and Justin (Farmington waddup), for being awesome and answering any questions I had. I 100% recommend Midland! Also to note the quote was one of the more adorable ones I received but Dan's expertise and how nice he was is what sold me.

Fast, fair and professional!!

I had my furnace go out over night, Thursday, and Midland had room to fit me in that afternoon, Friday. Jessica showed up and had the issue diagnosed in about fifteen minutes. Then after a few phone calls found out that no longer made parts for my furnace, since is was about 30 years-old. With that all figured out she got things rolling an their end to get me a new furnace. I got a call from Todd at their office within an hour and he and I figured out which model I needed. He emailed me the invoice and told me to get it back to them as soon as I could so he could get the install scheduled. Todd and two of his crew were at my house the next morning, Saturday, at 8 AM and were all done by about 10AM. All four of the employees that I dealt with were friendly and helpful. They got me all squared away in less that 24 hours including work on a Saturday. Also there was no additional fee for having the install done on the weekend.

The charge is really high. Incredible! The service is too bad. Don't recommend.
